Surabaya, Eas Java (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono will not meet with victims of the Lapindo mudflow disaster during his three-day visit to Sidoarjo district, East Java, a presidential spokesman said. "The president already met representatives of displaced residents in his Cikeas private residence (on Sunday)," Andi Mallarangeng said on Tuesday.

The president, who arrived in Sidoarjo on Monday would make an aerial inspection of the affected area based on the map, he said before a meeting led by President Yudhoyono at the Indonesian Navy`s Juanda Airbase.

In the meeting, the president would listen to explanations from the executive board of PT Lapindo Brantas, the gas company blamed for the mudflow, he said.

Also in the same place on Monday night, Sidoarjo district head Win Hendarso briefed the president on latest developments in the mudflow disaster.

After Tuesday`s meeting, at 10.00 a.m. the president aboard an Indonesian Navy Super Puma helicopter would make an aerial inspection of the affected area, he said.

On Tuesday evening, the president would listen to explantations from Chief of the Sidoarjo Mudflow Managing Board (BPLS) Sunarso.

Mallarangeng said the results of a series of meetings would serve as inputs for the government to draw up a new policy to resolve the mudflow case.

"Through the series of meetings, the president accompanied by ministers having to do with the Sidoarjo mudflow can understand where problem exist and what action the government can take to solve them," he said.

The ministers include Communications and Information Minister Muhammad Nuh, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, State Minister for National Development Planning Paskah Suzetta, Public Works Minister Joko Kirmanto, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro, and State Minister for the Environment Rachmat Witoelar.
